What are we up to at Milk Pail Market?
The biggest news around the farm is we have added 3 new cows to our milking herd! We would like to welcome Camille, a 7 year old A2\A2 registered Red Dutch Belted. Her daughter, Annie who is a 3 year old A2/A2 registered Red Dutch Belted. and last but not least, Dolly. She is a coming 2 year old A2/A2 half Jersey half Ayrshire! They are settling in nicely and have saved our milk drops by ending the milk shortage!
With summer winding down and the leaves turning, We begin to prepare for all the upcoming holidays! We are excited to add fall flavors to our baked good section, so keep an eye out for those! (pumpkin cinnamon rolls, anyone?)
We are also breeding our origional milkers for early summer calves. Send some baby cow dust our way so we may all enjoy fresh milk in the summer!
The ducks have drastically slowed down their egg production for the year as well. Ducks only lay eggs seasonally and that season is almost over! Duck eggs will return next spring!
PASTURE RAISED POULTRY
Meat birds are all done for the year! We have a freezer full of whole chickens, as well as cuts! Check out our shop tab to snag some today!
THE COWS
The milking herd and our farm matriarch ClairaBelle are enjoying the last few bits of green grass out in the pasture. With this only being our second year grazing, our pastures are not yet abundant. but every year is an improvement on the last! Were also breeding both Lily + Sugar this month! babies on the way!
